There is something distinctly alarming about paying a visit to your GP to update them on the outcome of a recent hospital visit (it takes a very long time for the written report to arrive in the GP's mail) when the GP has been very upbeat about the tests, but, on hearing the results, gives a huge sigh, a big smile and says, 'I'm sooooo pleased to hear that.' Call me paranoid, but my first thought about that reaction is that either the GP had been worried but had hidden it well or that they're genuinely happy to hear good news... I hope the latter interpretation is the correct one.
