Dog walking in autumn

As I stamped through soggy, fallen leaves in a huge downpour this morning, dragging two sulky dogs along with me, I caught myself mentally grumbling about walking in the rain. There is nothing nastier than a cold waterfall down the back of your neck when your headwear is whipped off by a chilly wind! However, almost as soon as the grumble came to mind, I realised that I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to go out with the dogs and get drenched. Three years ago at this time, even getting out of bed at letting the dogs into the garden was a monstrous effort; all I wanted to do was sleep.
My thought for today? It may be miserable, but it could be so much worse! Be grateful for every minute.
(I seem to be turning into an irritating "Pollyanna" (look it up - there's an entry in Wikipedia!))
