Winter woes

It has been raining for several days without cease. This is probably why I have a twinge in my hip that leads to a stiffening of my skeleton overnight. Standing around doing exam invigilation or sitting in front of a keyboard marking assignments - my general way of life these days - definitely doesn't help. Walking the dogs does; this seems to be testament to the advice given by a member of my local medical practice when I pulled a muscle in my back recently; "Keep moving. It'll hurt but it's better for you in the long term."
Well, it may simply be a sign of age, but I keep thinking back to the beginnings of the dodgy hip. It is the same hip that began to hurt while I was having radiotherapy. I flagged this up at the time and was assured that it was a coincidence. Strange, though, that I'd never had any skeletal problems before then...
