Ok, I admit it! I'm fitter now than I have been for years. I realised this was definitely the case today as I marched around the city on my way to meet a friend. Rather than taking the bus, I chose to walk down into the river valley and back up the other side - in both directions. What's worse, I wasn't even remotely out of breath, despite the hugely steep incline. I haven't done that since I was a teenager when walking was the only form of transport that I could afford! Amazing to find that my fitness levels have improved so dramatically.
