Back from the 50th birthday party. It was a lovely occasion, a nice family and old friends celebration. I got my revenge to an extent; my friend came to my birthday party armed with photos of me and her as babies (how embarrassing!) I meant to raid my ancient photo collection to take some retaliation with me today, but forgot - the cottage took a lot more cleaning than expected before the next lot of guests arrived this afternoon. Luckly, an old family friend from Germany had brought some baby photos of my friend and her brother and parents with him. Revenge is sweet!!
I'm so pleased I was asked to this party. I really enjoyed it. It would have been good if my godfather (and my own parents) could have been there too, but we all spared a thought for those who weren't with us in body and, of course, we celebrated (even if we didn't say so) that we've beaten our cancers.
On the way home, giving my godmother a lift, we followed two rainbows for around 40 miles. Such a lovely symbol of hope, the rainbow.
