There is, I've decided, a distinct danger that when you've had "a life-threatening illness" (thanks to the usual source for that one!), of becoming a bore on the subject. And blogging about it increases the likelihood that this will happen. Do I care? Only inasmuch as if the blog becomes boring, it loses readers and thus the message about cancer being something survivable doesn't get spread quite so widely.
I have, however, noticed that I have a tendency to pull the cancer card out when I feel the need to make a point. I've told you I can't do something, yet you insist that I have to? I've had cancer. You're worried about a visit to the doctor for a minor problem? I've had cancer. You want my views about something not related to cancer? Of course - but I've had cancer, so I'm going to talk about it.
I do wonder whether there's a danger that mentioning the elephant in the room at every possible opportunity is just as annoying as ignoring it?
On the other hand, it's a really big elephant...
