Autumn in the air

How fast the time goes. There's a distinct touch of autumn in the air today and the trees are beginning to change from their lovely green frocks into the golden shades of their forthcoming display before dropping their leaves for the winter. It seems almost no time since I was watching the bare branches turning fuzzy at the edges and bursting into shimmering pale green leaves.
Of course, now I'm looking towards the next hospital visit - it's already a month since my last one. January 15th 2010 will either be a day for huge celebration or deep disappointment. I trust it will be the former, but suspect it may be the latter. So much depends on the consultant and, of course, my state of health.
Luckily, I'm feeling well at present, though the heat at night has not contributed to sleeping well so I'm rather more tired than I would like. I'm enjoying walking again, despite the first twinges of osteoarthritis in my hip. Of course, it's annoying, but it doesn't slow me down, nor will I allow it to do so!
Autumn, though, does bring intimations of mortality with it. I really must get my Will completed and make a decision about arrangements for my disposal.
In the meantime, I live in hope that January's consultation will be successful and that after that, I'll stop wishing my life away to the point after the next hospital visit.
