Oh dear, not only did all the important notes on my medical file get mislaid in the transfer from one hospital to another when the Cancer Care unit moved, but it seems that other notes such as, "Please do NOT send me a copy of the letter Nurse sends to my GP" have also been lost. Over and over again, I have asked not to be sent these letter - simply seeing the hospital return address on them sends me into an agony of terror! Not only that, but the content never bears any resemblance to the discussion I think I had during the consultation, and that just annoys me. So, imagine my irritation this morning - coupled with a mild panic attack! - when the hospital envelope arrived. I thought I'd cured them of doing this - it seems not.
How come that the contents of a patient's file can get totally scrambled/mislaid in a move, especially when the patient could see the relevant notes while standing at reception waiting to book in - seems whoever sends this stuff out doesn't bother to check the notes...
