Another weekend...

I'm still pondering how quickly time passes. This week, I've been to the funeral of an old family friend and also had other old family friends to afternoon tea. A sad event followed by a happy one, but a lot of memories were linked to both.

And here we are again, at the end of another week, emphasised by the fact that darkness now falls by 5.30 pm, since summer time ended last weekend. In a few weeks' time, it'll be dark by around 3.30 (the "lighting up time" may suggest an hour later, but...).

Despite the onset of winter and the sad - and happy - events of the week, I've more or less overcome that cold that's been hanging around for weeks, never quite developing, and have been walking again. I knew I must be feeling better when I didn't even consider taking the car out with me to go to the baker's yesterday, and when I got home and decided to take the dogs for a walk before the rain arrived, leaving the house within five minutes of getting home, my return to fitness was clear, as was underlined by the fact that on my return from dog walking, the dogs collapsed in panting heaps but I proceeded to clean the house from top to bottom!

It is annoying, though, that despite all the exercise and feeling well, if I get a cold or eat something that disagrees with me, it does take longer than it used to before I can shake it off. I don't know if this is a result of age or the after-effects of radiotherapy - it could be the outcome of both of those things added together - but I don't like it...
