I've finally managed to sort out my birthday party with Cancer Research UK. I'm now waiting for the invitations they've printed to arrive so I can send them out to some close friends who I'd love to share the day with.
The party is going to be a fund raising event for Cancer Research UK, but I know that a) I won't be able to invite everyone I'd like to ask because of space restrictions in the venue and b) some of the people I ask won't be able to come because of distance or other commitments. So, in discussion with Cancer Research UK, I've set up a web page on their Give in Celebration site. This page allows people to make a donation to Cancer Research UK, even though they won't be with me on my celebration day.

Lesley's 50th birthday!
The page will be available until one week after my birthday. It will close on 3rd May 2008. That seems appropriate as it would have been my mother's 85th birthday that day.
