Having been diagnosed with cancer and told I needed radiotherapy, I was unable to find much useful information about the treatment from a patient's perspective. This blog is a record of my own experience, a real description of being a cancer patient requiring radiotherapy, as well as an account of recovery and the after-effects of illness. As time goes on, my dealings with the health system in general may also be mentioned, as long as I continue to be clear of cancer.

Fully fit?
Having fought off a cold and reflected on the last few days, I realise that I must be fairly near to being back to full fitness; I spent yesterday moving heavy flagstones and taking large amounts of rubble to the municipal dump, where I unloaded it and threw it away all by myself. I do still get quite tired, but nothing like as badly as before surgery. Indeed, although I keep saying this, I haven't been so energetic for many years. I even walked to and from the village three times on Friday last week; excessive, I know, but easier than driving and trying to find somewhere to park! Now that's something I thought I'd never catch myself saying...
