Having been diagnosed with cancer and told I needed radiotherapy, I was unable to find much useful information about the treatment from a patient's perspective. This blog is a record of my own experience, a real description of being a cancer patient requiring radiotherapy, as well as an account of recovery and the after-effects of illness. As time goes on, my dealings with the health system in general may also be mentioned, as long as I continue to be clear of cancer.

Occupying my mind
I had forgotten how time-consuming property purchase can be. I seem to have spent the last twenty-four hours on the phone, sorting out legal and financial considerations. And this is just Day One! It will get worse as the deadline for completing the transaction approaches; luckily, I'm really not bothered one way or the other whether the whole deal goes through or not (though I'd rather not lose money over it). But at least this project is distracting my attention from obsessing over my health (which is a danger that many recovering cancer patients face).
