All through last year, I had acupuncture, mainly to treat what my GP had told me was "depression". As it turns out, I had a physical illness that was causing the symptoms of depression. But anyway, I digress. I was a little apprehensive when I went for my first acupuncture session - would it hurt? More to the point, would it work? Well, I was very impressed both by the effect of acupuncture on my well-being and by my acupuncturist, who is extremely skillful and knowledgeable.
Once surgery and radiotherapy were over, I decided to resume acupuncture treatment, mainly because the result of surgery is menopause, with all the associated symptoms I've been lucky and avoided most of those, but I have had some problems with waking up in the early hours of the morning (usually around 4 am) feeling extremely hot, even when the temperature has been below 10C. So, last month, I had an acupuncture session to address this. I can thoroughly recommend it! My symptoms disappeared immediately and only began to recur last week. After today, though, I'm hoping that they will subside again for a while.
The best news for me, however, resulted from the examination of my tongue and pulse that happens at every acupuncture session. It seems that my improved health is visible in these markers, so I'm feeling rather pleased with myself!

Glad you're such a convert to acupuncture too, Lesley! After my accident, when I was told by doctors & physios that I would never get more than 70% movement back in my neck, I decided I had nothing to lose from acupuncture - so I had it regularly for 3 months & got full movement back! I go back agai now whenever I sleep funny & gt a sore neck or shoulders - & it's great for jetlag too! Stay well!
