The next few weeks are really going to test my new-found stamina! First of all, I have to go to a training day that's approximately a 5 hour drive away from my home. It was in preparation for this that I did a longish drive a couple of weeks ago, but it was much less demanding than my forthcoming trip.
In order to make sure that I'm not too tired to benefit from the training, I'm arriving a day early to stay with friends. Of course, because I used to live in the town where the training's happening, I've already arranged to see a lot of people! Since I still tend to get tired quite quickly, I hope that I'm going to be able to manage meeting a lot of different people - I can cope well with one or two, but more than that is still very tiring.
At the end of the week, a friend is coming back with me to spend a week here. I'm really looking forward to that, as we'll both have our own transport and I know we'll both be happy to 'go with the flow', so there'll be no pressure to rush about sightseeing unless we want to (I admit, though, that we've already been making plans about where to go and what to see!). Then, the week after that, two more friends are coming to stay for a few days. Again, I'm really looking forward to seeing them. The day they leave is the day of my first check-up. This is really beginning to prey on my mind now; even the most delicate twinge in my toes starts me worrying... In fact, I think the check-up is the event that is most likely to wear me out, mainly because of the concern that I'll need further treatment. I shall have to explain to my friends that if I seem to be distracted, this is the reason.
It will be wonderful to see them all, but I wish this hospital visit had already happened because I want to concentrate on my friends' visits, not on worrying about what's about to occur...
