Driving around

To break the monotony of text posts only, here's a photo of the village I visited yesterday. It's Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire.

Why did I go there? Read on...

Since surgery in December, I haven't tried to make a long-distance journey by car. First of all, driving wasn't possible, then, when it was, I began therapy and didn't really feel up to driving. However, now that I'm feeling so much better, I want to visit friends around the country, and since public transport is a) expensive and b) not tremendously reliable, I want to be able to get to my destination by myself.

So, yesterday, I did a 200km round trip. It was a lovely day, and it seemed that it was the ideal time to test my stamina. I'm pleased to report that there was no problem at all. I drove for around 2 hours to my destination, took a break and wandered around a picturesque village on the coast, and then I drove back via some very busy roads.

People have told me that their energy levels have been vastly improved after surgery and radiotherapy. They were right!

I remember my first trip by car around this time last year, about six weeks after major surgery. Isn't it great to be able to get out and about again?

I know what you mean about energy levels. I have had exactly the same experience.
