When I started having radiotherapy, I moaned at the prospect of having to attend the hospital for just over four weeks because weekends are "free". Two weeks into the treatment, I'm quite grateful not to have to get up at the crack of dawn and drive through rush hour traffic for forty-eight hours! It's not that I'm particularly tired, it's just nice to have a break in the routine. Indeed, tiredness hasn't been a problem for me at all, though several of the patients I've talked to have complained about being very tired. It may be that I've not yet had sufficient treatment for the weariness to begin, or it may be that because I was extremely anaemic (a problem now addressed) before surgery at the end of last year, I don't really notice radiotherapy-related tiredness because it's so much less than what I had already experienced!
Whatever the reason, I'm going to enjoy just chilling at home for a couple of days.
