After a day without a good internet connection, I'm back and blogging. I had a surge of energy yesterday and organised several home-related things that have been needing attention for a few months. So, today, my garden is going to be sorted out to a stage where I can deal with it myself. Even the smallest garden becomes unmanageable if it's neglected for six months, which is what's happened to mine. The weeds are taking over as spring approaches and, since I still get very tired with even a small amount of exertion, my feeble efforts have made little impact on the invaders. I also seem to have acquired a rabbit; it's burrowed under the wall from the fields beyond, so its access route is to be sealed today. It's driving my dogs to distraction as they track the scent but can't find the owner.
Yesterday was a good day. For the first time in some weeks, the abdominal cramps were notable by their absence, I didn't feel the need to sleep in the afternoon and I even made inroads into tidying the numerous heaps of paper that have been accumulating for the last few months as I've cast mail aside, unopened, unless it looked important.
Today, I'm going to start walking again. I need to go to the post office and have the choice of taking the car and fighting for a parking space with the tourists who have reappeared as the weather has warmed up (and there are a lot of tourists at the moment) or I can do the 4 kilometre walk. I've put my walking shoes on for the first time since treatment began. I expect it'll be quite tiring, but I'm determined to re-start my fitness regime now that I feel well enough to do so.
I'm not going to get too excited yet; the medical team said it would be two weeks before I began to feel better and it's only eight days so far. But there's definitely an improvement - and it's noticeable!
