At last

Today I had some good news. I have received a complete discharge from the radiological oncology unit at the local centre of excellence. I never have to go back!
It has been a long, hard road, but I've arrived at my destination and I'm about to celebrate! Raise a glass of something to the nurse who deserves a medal! Without her willingness to be flexible and recognise that repeated recalls do more harm than good in some cases, I'd have to go back for the final time next year instead of this.
I look forward to living a normal life again at last.
Will I stop writing the blog? Well, I'll always be a cancer survivor, though hopefully I'll never have to go through this again. The blog will be updated, but perhaps not quite so frequently.
Janet, if you're reading this, THANK YOU!

Thank you, Frauke. I hope the blog may help anyone who wonders what it's like to be diagnosed and go through treatment and (hopefully) recovery. It's been horrendous at times, but I've also had good friends who've supported me.
Cancer isn't insurmountable. If you know anyone who's been diagnosed or is worried, they need to know they're not alone, but that it could be a lonely road to travel for a while.
While there'll always be a dark place at the back of my mind where the worry lurks, I'm moving forward now, and so can others!
