Hospitals

Hospitals are the same around the world, I think: from the overworked staff to the overheated rooms. Thank goodness I've been able to take time to come to see my friend; the best day of this year was when she recognised me and hugged me as though she'd never let me go. To see her in so much pain is terrible, and to see her family sharing that pain is awful. This is such a cruel condition - the suffering just seems to go on and on. For those of us who have survived - so far - it is a reminder that this could happen to us, too. For those of you who haven't had to deal with survival, remember those statistics. And for all of us, let's support those who are working towards ensuring that eventually nobody will have to go through this.
