Well, well, it seems there are published service standards for NHS personnel. Guess what? It seems my experience of yesterday does not meet several of those standards. I will be composing a letter containing "constructive feedback" for my local hospital trust and I had better receive an apology at the very least.
If I, as an articulate patient, felt too intimidated to ask both the medical personnel involved to leave the cubicle while I was getting dressed after the examination - and I did draw breath to do so twice, but couldn't get the words out - how can those who feel "doctor knows best" deal with such treatment? Appalling.
And another by the way to the hospital - it is neither acceptable practice nor is it professional to have nurses standing around giggling and chatting with each other while waiting to collect patients to take them through for examination.
