It's a strange time of year, Christmas. On the one hand, it's all jollity and frivolity while, on the other, I have memories of Christmas Day three years ago when I was waiting to go to hospital the next day for major surgery. I really didn't think I'd see three more Christmases at that time! But here I am, snuffling my way to another Boxing Day and wondering why colds take so long a) to develop and b) to get rid of once they've arrived.
Three weeks until the next hospital visit. I look forward to the Christmas when I don't have a hospital appointment almost immediately after the holiday - it would be nice not to spend the festivities worrying about the impending examination...
