It really isn't the end

More evidence today, if any were needed, that a cancer diagnosis isn't the end of life as we know it.

I had to travel to the other end of the country and, since I didn't fancy a 10 hour drive, I flew from my local airport to the nearest airport to my destination. As we left the plane, the stewardess announced that for the month of June, the airline is supporting Cancer Research UK and asked us to make donations of small change, left over Euros etc. I duly did so as I headed for the exit, and she thanked me profusely. I explained that this was a charity dear to me because I am a cancer survivor. "Me too", said the stewardess.

It's great to meet fellow survivors and to see that not only have they come through the other side but that they're holding down a very responsible job. And congratulations to the airline involved - not all employers are quite so supportive / open-minded!
