Apparently, there is to be a leap second at midnight tonight. Another whole second in which to reflect on the year that's gone and the year to come. A lot to think about; this is the year that I was 50, the year in which I began to reflect on my cancer and the year in which I became determined to live for the moment. Now I'm in the second half of my century - which I fully intend to see out! - it's time to take stock and to consider what to do with what life remains to me. That could be a melancholy task and, until this year, I think it probably has been. However, I think I'm going to implement living for the moment as much as possible and to aim never to regret my actions.
Now, that seems like two rather overblown resolutions, doesn't it?
Happy 2009!
