I keep asking myself if it's age or the after-effects of radiotherapy that result in me being so tired whenever I've been on a journey. I got home from a week in Hungary on Sunday and am still feeling sleepy. Admittedly, it's been a busy time since my return; a whole day showing a friend around the area followed by a job interview (yes, I got it!) and the beginning of a new course that I'm tutoring.
This is without all the excitement of terrible weather - apparently my village was all but cut off by flood water on Saturday, so I'm very glad I was away. The fields are currently still small lakes, but the waters are receding. It does make the daily dog walk a bit of an adventure, though!
What have I learned from my travels? Probably... remember to take your flight socks on a plane! And, of course, that I shouldn't expect to be leaping around energetically at the end of a busy conference, particularly since, like all of us, I'm not as young as I once was!
