Time is soooo relative! The two weeks before I visited the hospital crept past. I could practically see the hands on the clock slowing down as the appointment approached. Since then, they've been speeding up again and suddenly, it's almost a week later and I've posted nothing.
I was tired after the hospital visit and it's taken a few days for me to get over that. The heat at night doesn't help - the air is dripping humidly at present - and the fact that the dogs demand to get up as soon as the first traces of light appear over the horizon at about 4 am isn't really conducive to sleep. However, unlike the time before my cancer was diagnosed, I no longer creep off to bed at midday, waking only briefly at about 6pm before going back to bed and sleeping for around 12 hours. The clock may be speeding up, but I have more waking hours to enjoy, so, in some ways, time goes slower.
Now, it may be a function of age, but I've discovered that I'm doing that thing called "power napping". I sit down after lunch and, before I know it, it's 10 or 15 minutes later and the sleepiness that leapt upon me has gone. Power napping, I think, is good. Sleeping all afternoon, every afternoon is probably a sign that you need to talk to your doctor.
