Recovering

I hadn't realised how very, very tense I was before yesterday's hospital visit. I knew I was anxious, but it seems that I was much more anxious than I thought. Today, I've been getting over the lead-up to the appointment, mainly flopping around and doing very little after a busy morning that saw me buying paint, floor tiles and wall tiles.

All the walking has certainly improved my level of fitness. I carried a 15 litre tub of paint around 400 metres without stopping today - and I wasn't out of breath when I got to my destination. It may not sound like much, but have you ever tried to carry a 15 litre tub of paint? They're very heavy!

I could hardly believe that I was able to do that and not have to stop numerous times to catch my breath.

As I told the doctor yesterday, I've never felt better. It's incredible how your health can decline so slowly that you don't know it's happening, even though you're sure other people are a lot more healthy than you are. But when you recover, you really appreciate your new-found vigour.
