A dreadful calm?

Another example of my improved health... A small disaster at the renovation project yesterday when the men from the gas board who came to move the gas meter discovered a corroded gas pipe in the ground at the back of the house. They are coming back on Sunday to dig up the road, replace the pipe and move my gas meter. Why a disaster? Well, apart from the effect on the development schedule, it's a private road and it belongs to my neighbour! It does not look good to buy a house and then disrupt the neighbourhood by digging up a newly-asphalted (at some expense) road... Luckily, the neighbours are very understanding.

How does this demonstrate my improved health? Before I was ill, I would have panicked. Yesterday, though I was horrified and rushed to see the neighbour to explain the problem, I came home afterwards and forgot about it. Previously, I would have lost sleep and gone into a downward spiral of worry.

As well as all those walks I now take - another symptom of improved health (who would have thought I would ever have recommended the benefits of exercise!) - I find acupuncture very useful, particularly now that my acupuncturist thinks that we have reached a degree of equilibrium. This is something I thought I'd never achieve, so I'm very happy about that.

Now all I have to do is deep breathing exercises until my hospital visit on Friday is over - hopefully with another 'all clear'.
