Having been diagnosed with cancer and told I needed radiotherapy, I was unable to find much useful information about the treatment from a patient's perspective. This blog is a record of my own experience, a real description of being a cancer patient requiring radiotherapy, as well as an account of recovery and the after-effects of illness. As time goes on, my dealings with the health system in general may also be mentioned, as long as I continue to be clear of cancer.

Still coughing, but...
... amazingly, the acupuncture seems to have helped. Sticking a needle in my throat appears to have calmed the cough and the needle in the chest has stopped the asthmatic wheeze I now get when I have a cold ;-) *And* my energy levels are rising rapidly, allowing me to take a walk before spending a few hours driving around the countryside as well as preparing and serving a "proper" dinner, by which I mean preparing the contents of dinner from raw, cooking it and serving it as though at a restaurant! Suddenly, I'm beginning to enjoy cooking again; although I never really went off eating, cooking became anathema to me when I was feeling so ill last year. It was too tiring, it took too long and then there was all the clearing up. But now, I'm enjoying being creative in the kitchen once more. How things change in twelve months.
