Having been diagnosed with cancer and told I needed radiotherapy, I was unable to find much useful information about the treatment from a patient's perspective. This blog is a record of my own experience, a real description of being a cancer patient requiring radiotherapy, as well as an account of recovery and the after-effects of illness. As time goes on, my dealings with the health system in general may also be mentioned, as long as I continue to be clear of cancer.

Distractions
Well, the cold is still rumbling away - at least I've stopped sneezing now, which is a relief. People I talk to keep saying, "Have you got a cold? You sound awful", which makes me feel really good, of course! Never mind; I have found the perfect way to take my mind off snuffling and coughing. I am currently involved in renovating an old house. On top of teaching and doing consultancy, it fills my time in nicely. Today, I've been talking kitchens and bathrooms; with luck, I will have some designs to look at in the next couple of days. It certainly takes my mind of feeling achy and coldy...
