Walking again

For the first time since treatment, I've found the energy to go Nordic walking! Yesterday, I found that I needed to take a walk, since I was very restless, so I went to the village to buy milk. The day before that, I took a walk with my neighbour. This morning, I didn't have an excuse to go out, but decided to walk in any case. So, I picked up my walking poles and off I went, despite the rain.

This may sound like a small thing to many of you, but, for me, it's a major development; I can't remember the last time I got up in the morning and the first thing to come to mind was where I'd go for my walk. In fact, I did around 45 minutes of vigorous walking along lanes and over bridleways, through fields and along roads. I won't do that walk alone again, since, around half way into it, I realised that I was in a very isolated area and that a dog walker was recently attacked in roughly the same place! Still, I got home safely, and I now know that I'm fit enough to go Nordic walking again. I'm looking forward to increasing the distance as spring turns to summer.
