Six...

At last, an uneventful trip to the hospital. The traffic was worse than usual, despite the early hour, but I arrived on time, found a parking place within five minutes' walk of the Cancer Treatment Centre and was called for my 08:20 appointment at 08:20. No x-rays today, thank goodness. By 08:30, I was out of the hospital and on my way to make the most of the rest of the day.

As usual on a Friday, some patients had their last session of treatment. You could hear the whoops of joy as they emerged! Again, I have to stress that it's not that the treatment is unpleasant; it just gets extremely boring trailing to the hospital every day for several weeks. Once you're there, everyone is kind and supportive, but the journey and the waiting around are very tiring.

Right now, I'm at the airport, waiting to go away for the weekend. Having treatment certainly hasn't curtailed being able to do 'normal' things like travel (though, as I mentioned some time ago, travel insurance can be problematic while you're undergoing treatment and for a few months afterwards). I must remember to ask the doctor for a letter for my insurance company to say I'm ok to travel overseas. This time, it's just a national hop, next time, I'm going international!

Six more sessions... and counting...
