A radiant life

Having been diagnosed with cancer and told I needed radiotherapy, I was unable to find much useful information about the treatment from a patient's perspective. This blog is a record of my own experience, a real description of being a cancer patient requiring radiotherapy, as well as an account of recovery and the after-effects of illness. As time goes on, my dealings with the health system in general may also be mentioned, as long as I continue to be clear of cancer.

Improving..

I'm improving! Thank goodness. I'm told that my speech may be affected for a year - or even forever - but at least its improving.

Strangely enough, this has put all thoughts of cancer out of my mind! Now, is that an advantage or not...

I have only just heard about the stroke and the news has really shocked me. However it is great news that you are improving though the speech does seem awhile away.
Is one side of you affected more than the other -- is that an old wives tale ?
Did you feel it coming on and able to get help ?
You are a very strong person and with determination like yours I am sure you will do everything in your power to make a good recovery.
